II. Core Structure and Technical Features
A modern Marine STS Bunker Hose hose is a masterpiece of engineering. It is usually designed with a composite layer structure to meet the demanding requirements in extreme environments.
1. Inner Layer: Made of oil-resistant and corrosion-resistant synthetic rubber (such as nitrile rubber), it ensures compatibility with the transported medium and prevents oil contamination and corrosion of the pipeline inner wall.
2. Reinforcement Layer: This is the "framework" of the hose. It is usually constructed by winding multiple layers of high-strength steel wires or textiles, providing extremely high pressure-bearing capacity and tensile strength, capable of withstanding the internal pressure of the oil and the pulling forces from the external marine environment.
3. Cover Layer: Made of wear-resistant, weather-resistant and saltwater-resistant rubber (such as neoprene), it protects the reinforcing layer inside from mechanical damage, ultraviolet radiation, marine organism attachment and saltwater corrosion.
4. Buoyancy Modules: Many STS hoses are equipped with detachable floats or built-in foam materials, allowing them to assume a specific suspended shape (typically in the form of an "inverted dome") in water, thus avoiding friction with the seabed or being scraped by ships.
Its main technical features include:
High flexibility: It can bend with waves and ocean currents, absorbing the drift and oscillation energy of the hull and avoiding breakage due to rigid connections.
High pressure resistance: It can withstand the high pressure generated by the pumping unit to ensure efficient flow of the oil product.
Resistant to harsh environments: The design can withstand extreme temperatures, storms and marine chemical corrosion.
